Festool is a high end wood working tool like others have said. They are high end because of how well they handle dust collection. That dust can really hurt you over a long period. Festool does the best job at keeping your lungs clean.

Festool is a brand name for tools used primarily for woodworking. They are certainly high end in terms of price. They are most often sold in woodworking stores that cater to Professional people who have a woodworking hobby they are able to spend a lot of money on.

You mean festoon. It is a flex cabling arrangement with a track and trolleys to support loops od wiring for a tool that can be moved along a track like a houst or crane.

I give kudos to Festool for their system but I’m really not too sure that they didn’t ‘borrow’ some ideas from Mafell. I would love to knwo who came up woth it first. I know Mafell sold one f their old designs to Hilti. I run with the Mafell myself and have had it for probably 6 or 7 years with great results. I think Festool may have actually improved on it in terms of the accessories and add-ons you can get for the rail but I won’t change from my Mafell.

The only thing that comes close to the quality of this machine is an alterdorf f45 or a homag beamsaw. The quality of this machine is something else I have really haven’t come across anything like this before. I’d strongly advise it to anyone who hasn’t got the space for a tablesaw. price doesn’t even become a factor in this because it is worth the money
